Default Biketronics Fitment Info

Hi Guys,

I see a lot of questions on fitment so i thought I would start a fitment post. Will take a couple days to get it done. Some of this might include my opinions - these are just my opinions and I will be the first to admit I don't know everything and could very well be wrong.

I will try and make this in some sort of order but not sure the best way to organize it yet. Please pm me if you have fitment questions, I will answer and then update this if it is something that would help other people out.

EG = Ultra, Classic, Standard, and StreetGlide style fairing
RG= RoadGlide style fairing

6.5" Speakers:

1. BT471 and BT472 kits. Kits with adapters and all needed hardware for 1996 to 2013 EG fairings and 1998 to 2013 RG fairings. http://www.biketronics.com/titan-ii-6-5-upgrade

Notes -
A. 1998-2005 RG and any RG with CVO style grills (has tweeter built into grill) must update/backdate to newest version of HD grills. We usually have those if needed, they are about $20 each. Part # 77021-98B and 77022-98BE.
B. Now that we have our 7.1" kit the 6.5" is usually only used in lowers or pods.

2. BT477 bare 6.5" speakers. Same speaker as used in the kits. These are used in aftermarket or HD CVO style lower speaker boxes, as well as aftermarket 6.5" lids.

Notes -
A.
We do have grills (for free) if needed but if using the HD lower boxes you really want to use the stupidly expensive HD grill. Nothing else fits flush or looks as nice. Here are the HD part numbers needed to convert the newer vented lowers so you can drop in a 6.5" speaker, about $140 to get all - Speaker Grill 76000065 - two needed, Left Speaker Box 57410-11, Right Speaker Box 57419-11, Screws 10200012 - eight needed
B. These will not fit in any HD rear pod without an adapter, but they sound good when installed using one.
C. They will fit in the 2014+ EG white plastic pods but I would not recommend it, sounds like poop. Just like everything else I tried in those pods.

7.1" Speakers and 7.1" Pods:

1. BT7S EG and RG kits - Lower power version of our regular 7.1" speaker kit. Sounds exactly the same. Great for the guy running off a radio without an amp or with a 75 watt or lower per channel amp. http://www.biketronics.com/bt71s-speaker-upgrade

2. BT7P1 EG and RG kits -
Higher power 7.1" speaker kit. http://www.biketronics.com/bt7p1-speaker-upgrade

Notes -
A. We designed these specifically for the HD market, it is not an off the shelf speaker or anything sold in any other form. It is built for us by Hybrid Audio Technology.
B.
Same fitment as the BT471 and BT472 6.5" kits.

3. BT7P14 EG kit - 7.1" speaker kit with metal pod replacement pieces and all needed hardware for 2014+ EG style fairing. Uses our regular 7.1" speaker. http://www.biketronics.com/2014-bt7p14-speaker-upgrade

Notes -
A. We could not get acceptable sound using the 2014+ EG white plastic speaker pods
, they flexed and caused muddiness in the low mid-range that was not up to our standards. So we built a metal brace to convert to a open air system like the earlier bikes. Not easy or cheap but had to be done.
B. No way to put our 7.1" speakers in the 2014+ RG fairing at this time. Our 6.5" will fit (BT465 kit) and sound good in the 2014+ RG fairing pods so that will be our initial offering for that fairing.

6X9" Speakers and 6X9" Lids:

BT4180 Amp:

1. BT4180 amp kit - Fits 1996 to 2013 EG fairing with aftermarket radio, 2006-2013 using HD radio. 1998-2013 RG fairing with stock or aftermarket radio. http://www.biketronics.com/bt4180

2. BT4180.14 amp kit - Fits 2014+ EG and 2015+ RG. Needs our breakout harness for Ultras do to rear speaker wiring.

Notes -
A.
Kits come with everything needed, we throw in any extra harnesses that we think will help with your specific setup.
B. Will run up to eight 4 ohm speakers in parallel.

BT2180 Amp:

1. BT2180 amp kit - Fits 1996 to 2013 EG fairing with aftermarket radio, 2006-2013 using HD radio. 1998-2013 RG fairing with stock or aftermarket radio. http://www.biketronics.com/bt2180-180w-rms-x-2

2. BT2180.14 amp kit -
Fits 2014+ EG and 2015+ RG. http://www.biketronics.com/bt2180-14...or-2014-and-up

Notes -
A.
Kits come with everything needed, we throw in any extra harnesses that we think will help with your specific setup.

B. Will run up to four 4 ohm speakers in parallel. Great for uppers and lowers. http://www.biketronics.com/bt2180-am...ur-speaker-kit

Great info!

I wonder if you have plans to list the 6x9 speakers you package with HogTunes lids on their own for those of us who've already got the lids on the site?

We do sell them, not sure why I haven't listed them yet. Too many hats. It is a kit with the tweeter mount, speakers, and screws to fit the Hogtunes lids. I would have to get back to you on Monday with price, I think retail is $425 but I can always do better for forum guys.

Bill,

How is the progress on what is listed in red?

2. BT4180.14 amp kit - Fits 2014+ EG fairing, working on mount for 2014+ RG - very soon. Available but not currently listed on our site becouse Bill has not gotten around to writing up need to know info about putting it on Ultra's, basically it is hard to get rear signal out from radio and need adapters to put decent speaker in rear pods.

I am looking for a complete system for a 2014 LIMITED? Fairing speakers, tour pac speakers, amp, and any addition hardaware Any help would be apreciated.

Paul

why do the amps fit with 98 to 13 RG with factory radio and not with the 96 to 05 EG with factory radio?

Sorry, missed this. The older radio is taller, so our amp will not fit on top. Some guys do it but it is really tight and not recommended.

You can get the Hogtunes amp bracket and you'll be able to use with stock head unit. The Hogtunes bracket mounts on the throttle side just behind the throttle side speaker. I had a Rockford Fosgate PBR300x2 mounted that way with no issues. If you use speakers bigger than 5 1/4", you'll need to trim the bracket slightly. Biketronics all the way, awesome audio systems, better than Paul Yaffe house party setup.
