Hello, I am new to the forum as well as motorcycles so forgive me if this has been covered. I am converting my 99 road king from efi to carb over the winter and have decided on a super e carb. My question is that I am finding super e shorty kits and I do not know if there's a difference between that and a regular super e carb. Thank you in advance for any help

As far as I know, all Super E's are shorties. There should be no difference.
I like S&S stuff so much that when I bought one of their carbs I got an engine to go with it! Start by checking with S&S themselves that you have the correct hardware for your bike, which to me looks as if it is the kit #11-0419. That comes with everything you could possibly need!
People using the 'Shorty' nickname are harking back to the days when Noah built his first custom, so ignore that word! I haven't seen it on any S&S material over the years I have taken an interest.

They 're called shortys because the S&S B carbs are longer and stuck out from the manifold and the E & G units are built shorter. This makes those carbs less bulky and not in the way of knees.
Good carbs in my opinion. One of the better upgrades I did to my '78 FXE. I got one for my '04 FLHT but have yet to install it. Maybe this winter.
Super E kit has carb, intake, S&S air cleaner and all mounting hardware for bikes less than say 100HP. You will not regret the purchase, basically everything can be adjusted or you can rebuild the carb with jut a flat blade screwdriver. Suitable replacement for that Magnetti Marelli FI. Order for as close a build as your bike so it should come with close jetting. A little more complicated but Mikuni has a CV carb kit to replace that old FI too.
