Rebuilt carb run fine until I put a filter over it.
I rebuilt my carb on a new to me bike. Old jets were just so bad. It runs great without the filter but When I out it all on, it heavily bogs and dies when I slowly hit the throttle.
Did the bike run before ya rebuilt the carb? If it did, ya screwed it up. How do the carb jets go "bad?" What carb is it? Which model is it? SORRY, no useful information and no help.
sounds like issues with the idle and transfer ports. does the accel pump work? without the extra squirt of fuel, the mix will go lean and bog. what about the slide? seen too many leaks and pinched rubber that effect the lift.
a carb is a dirty pot devise meaning there are air passages and all the aerosol cleaners cannot get there, it needs a bath and better with sonic but sometime it is a brick to bloom where the passage is blocked with corrosion, sometime a mild aluminum cleaner bath work and sometimes just another bick in the wall. did you install the main jet holder correctly, been some who installed it upside down.
Sorry, its a 2001 Road King. I did use 1 size larger jets as was suggested by someone on th youtubes. My next move is gonna be take the carb back off and rejet to the original sizes.
