Hey i have a Mikuni HS 40 on my shovel it has an S&S filter and a cover which i wont to lose as A. i dont have an S&S carb and B. its bloody ugly ! can anyone tell me if the mikuni will run ok without a filter ? thinking of just fitting a velocity stack with a gauze to stop animals getting in there ! thanks

S&S carb is ugly statment is pure blasphemy. Any carb will run without a filter. Your just mad cause you dont have an S&S carb

Never said that S&S carbs are ugly just filter cover ! which is ! in my opinion

My G-d man you said it again... You better get out your rosary and do 500 hail Marys. Is nothing sacred any more? Im done here this more than I can take.

Yeah your probably right Biginch hustler ! here isnt the best place to be these days ! the weather is ***** the country is going to the dogs blah blah ! but at least i got my shovel ! thanks for the input

ON ebay there is a outfit that makes a adapter that firs a S&S a n will accept Harley and after market center screw Air Cleaners. Got 1 a few months ago installed great think it was 40 bucks. Like you the tear drop S&S got old!!!
