Default S&S super e

I have a 73 sportster with a 1000cc ironhead. I had just recently swapped out the atock carb for a super e. I am having a heck of a time adjusting it and have been told that the jets need to be changed. Does anybody know what the best sizes are to use? I really don't want to have to keep ripping the carb apart to find the right configuration.

It is secondhand and the previous owner wasn't sure of the bike came off of.

I suggest buying a rebuild kit, so you can strip and clean it, also replace any rubber components inside, to ensure it is in good shape. If nobody else here is able to give you base settings to start from, contact S&S themselves direct. They are usually very helpful. Also go to their website, where there is some useful tech info you should find helpful.

Good advice, rebuild will prevent you from trying to tune around an existing problem and S&S tech help will put you in the ballpark for jetting.
