I recently posted in another post about the plugs looking like the bike was running lean. I have a 2002 1200S. After doing some research on this forum as well as others I determined mane by the color of the plugs that the bike was running lean. Went and picked up a 45 low jet since the one in there was a 42 and picked up a 170 and 175 main. Replace the pilot and replaced the main. Was a little stumped when I found a 195 main that was in the carb. I put the 175 main in. Turned air mixture screw out 3 turns and the bike runs great. Rode it 5 miles at 70 mph and killed it to check the plugs and they were white. So I rode back and used wd40 to check for any intake leaks. None found. So I'm to the pint where I'm not going to worry about the color of plugs. As long as bike runs great, idles great, and responds to the throttle like it should what else can u ask for. By the way, carb is stock, and pipes are stock.

You could also try increasing your float bowl height by about a MM. It would richen every circuit. If your float has a metal tang that is.

If its running good then thats half the job

Ideally you could put it on a Dyno and have them do a couple of pulls with the AF Sensors installed. That would be the best info session...

Holy HELL! How are y'all running such high jets!?!? I have 45/190 stock jets with the 88 Sportster needle. 2000 TC88 Wide Glide with V&H 2-1 Pro Pipe with SE203 cams. If I even go to a 48 or put a shim under the needle, my bike runs like absolute ****! Stumbling and coughing.

I just dont get it!
