If the bike is titled/registered as a 1978, you might have a problem. The bike should be titled by the frame number, and that is a 1973. Some places the cops might take a dislike to you, and that means the bike gets hauled away as a possible hot one. When I built a Sporty up with a different frame number than the engine, I always carried the bill of sale on the engine. Had to show it more than a couple times to keep the bike in my grubby paws instead of rotting in an impound yard.
