RK tranny in Softail?
Be gentle.... Working on my first build.
Bought an evo motor out of a 96 Road King (not EFI) and got the transmission as well. But I plan on using a softail frame and am told that tranny just won't go in that frame.
True? Sort of true? Not true?

Yeah, that's what I was told, but wanted to check.
I'm told that this transmission only has 27k on it. Would it be more cost effective to just find a transmission that will work in softail frame? or buy a case and swap the innards?

All you really need is the case, the gear set and shifting parts are the same. The newer model year the better.
The bearing support (also known as the "trap door") on the right hand side of the case should be 1987 or later.
