Start with I am not a Harley guy, spent most of my life on sport bikes. Bought a Custom Chrome "bike in a box" chopper in 06. Have enough of it...not the easiest thing to ride considering my back problems. Anyway, have a Kraft Tech FXFL style frame that I am going to use what I can from the chopper to build the other bike. Kraft Tech frame is set up for Softail flat side fuel tanks. I do not want to use the dash board that rides between them. I like having the speedo up on the bars. Have all the parts to mount the ignition switch on the top motor mount. Does anyone know of a company that makes a simple plate to replace the OE style dash? Friend works at a local metal shop so getting a piece of tin is not going to be an issue if that is what it takes.

 

If you plan to use 1/2 tanks, why cut off all the brackets and use a one piece tank? You could use a custom leather piece something like this but without the hole...
