Rebel I guess you are right......no doubt ALOT of these things have been done long before you andI started riding. It just seemsafter all these TV shows aired a couple of years ago everyone had to have a $50K bike with the fattest tire possible(it became a fad).......Kind of like the stripped down rigids or bobbers right now(they are now the fad). The long Ironhorses or Big Dogs aren't quiteas popular anymore and it's all retro now. These things dokinda come and go like fads,I see it every year or two........everyones riding a rigid Sportie down here now and that seems to be the new craze where as two years ago it was all brightly painted chromed out bikes with 40*+ rake and of course a fat tire.Of course all this stuff has been done years ago and I remember alot of it from whenI was a kid in the '70's but a whole new generation of people are discovering these things for the first time and whats popular today won't be tomorrow. The media plays a big role in this today and you can't deny people are doing things today because it's the "thing to do"...Listen........bottom line is.......I don't care what anyone rides or likesand I can definately appreciate ALL motorcycles. The original post asked opinions about wide tires and I gave mine...... sorry if I offended anyone.

Agreed.

I believe anything over a 230 is to much, but to each his or her own.

I posted in another thread that I recently attended a show and saw bikes including several imports (Sportbikes) with 300 or more tires. To me they're a bit silly, but again to each his or her own.

I happen to believe all motorcycles should be painted black!

rebel, fanda, I can tell that both of you are young, back in "70" at the age of 16 "I" built my 62 pan and ran a 200 perrelli car tire thats all we could get back then, sucks around corners but I still ride it to this day. After getting my kidneys knocked around to different parts of my body I bought the ultra the year my only daughter was born, my only factory ride, love that ride. Then I got the itch to do another build, and man is it ugly. Cost is under 10. Nothing fancy not raked looks stock except for that beautiful a$$, by the way, it's just how I like my women, with a nice lower end. Now this is a fact, No sportster has come close to this period. Hell, I buliding a sportie for my daughter should be ready when she's 16. Now for the part you both are not going to like, I have your silly right "here" I could say some **** a$$ comment about the mini van you drive or you being a closet pina colada drinker, I'm sure you get my point. "Silly" no matter how you fluff it up could come back to bite you in the a$$. FANDA, insecure was once, the first time I changed the little ones diaper. With that being said, I hope you two boys live long, ride hard and be smart........MP

MP,

WTF are you talking about man, can you not read..."I" built my motorcycle with a fat tire...I'm not trying to insult you dipsh*t, I'm with you!

Maybe the 8 or 9 years you have on me age wise has cause you to go a bit senile, perhaps you've lost your ability to read.

Young? You don't know me, so why insult me, I didn't insult you, but now you've pissed me off! I've wrenched on and have built just as many motorcycles as you have, probably more. Did you not understand when I said my old man built a Pan probably with the same Pirelli tire you mentioned. See he started me off a bit earlier then 16, I was riding at the age of 5. Changing my own oil and tuning up my bike by the time I turned 6.He taught me allotbut the most important thing he ever taught me was how to recognize an azzhole..... I lost him this past year, so excuse me if I'm a bit sensitive, but rest assured he taught me more about motorcycles then you'll ever know.

I don't drink Pina Colada's and I don't drive a mini van, now go have a nice warm glass of milk and get to bed early, you've got a long day tomorrow you silly old man.

I'll say it again you don't know me...so save your insults. Funny I thought you and I might get along, so far as this forum went.

I've ridden just about every model HD that there ever was, I bought my first new'factory' bike this past year an '07' RK Custom, but ya know what I'd stillrather ride my rigidSportyor my rigid 76 CB750 Chop."I" built them both.

If you are looking for a corner carver stay away from the extra wide tires.
