Default wide tire frames

the big wide tire frames, (he over 300 rear tire frames)I see most of them when looking at from the rear, the final drive side of the swing arm, on most cases the right side, sits out much wider, and it appears that the tire would not be centered. Is this true, and if it is, how do they ride... Maybe it is centered and the spacers take care of the difference I see??

Most the 300 tire bikes I've seen and the 3 that I've owned the tires are centered because there is no offset in the drive train with the right hand drive set up. I have seen wide tire left side drive set up with the tire off center as much as a 1/2". The left side drive bikes tend to be a little left heavy because of the Drive line offset needed to accomodate the wider tire.

from the one that I saw, the right side of the swing arm wias significantly wider than the left, while the tire may be centered, it would take a ratehr large spacer to accomodate for this correct?

The drive side has to be larger for room to run a sproket and chain . All frames have this .

when I first had my last custom built the 250 tire just came out and it was kind of a experiment on building the bike. it was left side drive and had to offset the motor an inch, which made the bike unbalanced and it rode like crap! I still put over 10,000 miles on it. Now there are so many products that will keep everything straight and in line...wider frames, right side drive, etc.
