The life expectancy on my rear tire is almost up. I have the stock Michelin Scorcher tires that came with my Bike. Really do like the tire in all types of weather, but it's expensive.
Are they special? Like can we ride with a flat for miles or something like that?
I want to go wider and the wide tire kit is 180/60-17 instead of the stock 160.
Does anyone know what tire is available and equivalent in size to the 180 Scorcher?
Any suggestions on which sites to look for tires for the bike?
How about a front tire? My Michelin is 100/90-19 and would like to go with a 110.
I've looked on line but haven't found exactly what I need. Just found a 180 rear Pirelli. Any coments on that tire?
Guess after seeing prices and how hard the exact fit is to find, looking for white walls is way out of the picture.
Open to all suggestions, looking for same or better grip and long tire life.
Its a Super Glide Custom and Harley sells a Wide Tire Kit with a 180 Scorcher tire.
I have Pirelli on my car and know its a great Brand, just wanted to make sure on bikes. Thanks for the feedback. I will add it to my list of options. I thought the wideglide came standard with the 180 tire
Any other posible brands. I feel like options are very limited.
Not for the faint of heart. 175/55R17. Plenty of belt clearance.
Yes it's a car tire. Yes, I realize it's a menace to society and may in fact cause the end of life as we know it. Yes, it will last a long time. Yes, it rides better. Yes, the braking traction is phenomenal. I am a professional test pilot. Do not try this at home, kids.
The problem is most 180 tires are made for a wider rim. Harley has the two they offer specially made to fit a 4 1/2" wide rim and won't let them be sold by anyone other than their dealers. Just make sure the tire you are looking at fits a 4 1/2" rim or you could have problems with bead seal.
That's exactly my concern. I need it to fit my stock rim and that's a measurement sites don't keep in mind.

That's about the Price I'm interested in getting. The cost of the wide tire kit, just the rear tire goes for $399. I don't see it as a benefit as I'm going for the looks, but tire will probably have better grip on the road. Its not that big, so it shouldn't affect turns.

I went to Michelin Commander II tires on the stock sizes when i changed. $253 shipped to my house for both tires.
I have my stock rims. From what I've read it should be 4.50".

What brand? How does it handle when you're scraping the pegs?
Since it's not a rounded profile, is there any problem with it hydroplaning on standing water?
