i like revtech motors, once they are dialed in they are nails! most chop ignitions suck, that is the nature of the beast, finding the one that will work with your set up is 1/2 the battle, only thing that i wish is they had compression releases... we are pulling the heads off my brothers 110 rev tech in his chop this spring to have them installed, but a bump start to find the compression stroke works as well. his bike runs like a rape ape!

I like my Revie too. I guess you get a little cynical after all the negative things I've read. My 100 makes great torque. I don't want to start a war but I rode a S&S 96 and 111 that seemed to have less out of the gate then the Gen III. The 113 had guts but vibrated too much. I believe the S&S could be more reliable and maybe the two smaller motors weren't set up or taken care of.

Never rode an Ultima but I hear they have plenty of giddie-up. I can tell you I've read plenty of negative stuff about their reliability. Great warranty though.

what's scary?

the 4th replacement?

I honestly think he went through all the generations of the motor. The fact that he's had the current one for 2 years says a lot, though! That guy is NOT nice to his bike.

how can you tell the difference by looking at a revtech engine, compared to the others?

Do you mean how to tell the Gen III and above? The R/HRocker cover is rounded.

It's the shitty module they use. My 110" didn't make it through the break-in period! Plus it had a rev limiter set @ 4200 rpm. I couldn't figure out why it would sound like a nascar @ pit speed when I got on it!
