So I read a lot about problems with older Revtech motors. Iaot of builders used them in '03 & '04. Are these the generation II ? What problems were there?

What type of electrical issues are you referring to? I have about 10K miles on my Revtech 88incher, and now it is beginning to die every couple of miles. No spark to the motor, but the electricals, i.e. lights, signals, stay on. when bike slows to almost walking speed, I can hit the starter and it fires up again.
WTF???
Any suggestions on where to look? Ignition module, coil, ?
Thanks
Ron

I have read good and bad about RevTech motors even the Gen II have had problems. It seems like the quality control in Korea has some issues. Some of the issues were with bottom ends. I have read that S&S had problems also with piston clearances and cylinders out of round but I currently run a 113" S&S and have no problems with it although I have a RevTeck 5 speed tranny but have had no problems with it either. From what I have read if you get a good RevTech they run for many trouble free miles if it is not so good it might last three months. That may have a lot to do with how they are maintained and how much twist is in your wrist. I personally do not baby any of mine whether they are Harley or S&S but I really have never dealt with a RevTech motor so I can only go by what I hear and read. Most of the guys I know building bikes are using S&S and are steering away from RevTech. Its your money and I would find and read what I could before spending it.
