popping and stuttering... i need help
Check the timing with a timing light. Retard it slightly and see if that makes a difference.
Check your petcock and fuel lines and filters. If your petcock has a screen eliminate any inline filters. Make sure the fuel line is not collapsing. Make sure the tank vent is working properly. When it starts popping open the cap.
Check for leaks at the intake manifold. When the bike is running, spray WD-40 around all of the seals. Make sure that the vacuum line is attached to the back of the carb if your running a VOS. If not cap the port with a vacuum cap. Get them from your local auto parts store.
Call Mikuni back and get a return authorization number and send the carb back and have them go over it and bench test it. It could have been a screwed pooch from the factory when installed in Korea.
If all of this doesn't help then dump the stock rev tech ignition and put a Dyna 2000i in it with a Dyna Coil. Static time it to get it started then check the timing with a light. If your using a VOS, replace it and make sure that the Dyna ignition is hooked up to it. If no VOS then hook the purple wire to a toggle switch that runs to a ground. When the switch it closed it will ground the ignition and put you into an rapid advance curve. This is OK for performance but if you get a bad batch of gas you can turn the switch off and it will then run a more moderate advance curve setup.
Hope this helps
