It took me about two years and a few gray hairs. Project started with a Rolling Thunder 200mm Wide Tire Bagger frame, PM wheels, Harley triple trees, and then went from there. I can't really say I "built" the bike, more like I "assembled" the parts. I'm a retired Navy Warrant Officer that works downtown DC and a self confessed shade tree mechanic. It was a fun project. I went as high end on all components as I could afford. Only thing I think is missing is anit-lock brakes and I'd have them if I could find a retro kit. Parts list includes:
S&S 124" crate motor
S&S Single Bore FI throttle body
S&S VFI closed loop ECU
Bub 7 true dual exhaust
Baker DD6
All ***** Starter
Chromed Harley down tubes with Traxxion Cartridges
Works Rear Shocks
Brembo brakes and rotors
RWD front fender and gas tank
Klockwerks made the rear fender and frenched in RWD tail light
Dakota Digital Guages
Harley fairing, side covers, utlta detachable tourpak, and saddlebags
Paint by Racepaint in Indiana
Biketronics radio control, Sony radio CD/MP3/XM/AM/FM
Hogtune speakers and tweetery pod
Saddleman seat
Rivera Pro Clutch
WOW!! That is one hell of a machine! 124"er?!!?!? Thats crazy! Please tell us you've had it on the dyno cause I'm very curious as to what sort of numbers that animal puts out. Very nicely done sir.
thanks for the compliments. Had the bike dyno'd in Daytona this year. 120 HP and 130 torque. Tuner thought the pipes hurt the torque a little and he wasn't a "fan" of closed loop injection. I think if he had to ride a bike at other than full throttle he would change his mind. I have NO complaints with the S&S setup. From day one this motor had fired immediately. The motor pulls fine from about 2100 rpm with no pinging. But power REALLY comes on when you get to 3000 rpm. I've had no issues with pinging/knocking.
