I have a Dyna 1983 with evo engine.......recently heard a noisy metallic ticking noise, can not pin point where it is coming from, maybe the pushrods....but had those out gave them a bit of a service, but still the ticking noise is there.
Have you guys any ideas on what it could be???
Please help
Folks call 'em by different names, no 'thickness' there. I have very weak ones (by design) in the Hendersons - they sound like sewing machines and nothing I can do about it (NO aftermarket for that at all and I have no idea how to make my own).
If everything else is tight (within clearances), they are usually the culprit. If it is not apparent, you can also have them tested for a weak spring. Fast compression will make the 'tick' like mine.
Do you hear the "Ticking" noise aroung the cylinders of the engine. If so could be anything from the crank to the piston. I had a piston rod snap, but just before it did, I too heard a ticking noise...then BOOM![sm=bomb.gif]
