good to hear!
what was the stock cam you took out?
exactly which components in your ignition did you replace? not sure if any stock ignition parts are retained with that kit.
how difficult was the install? I see there are some wire mods to be done.

dmgary, You mentioned you were going to get some head work done. Did you get that done or just install the cam? I'm wondering if the springs needed to be changed or did you just install the cam and the ignition?

I have a 600 cam in my 86fxr with a crane hi 4 ignition and I love the sound and added boost it gives my bike.

You mentioned $1,000 to upgrade, but I have to assume that was with the head work.

I need the same answer about installing the 600 cam. Does it go right in, or do you need to do work with the heads/springs?

ok ok you know i was doing that navy thing and was out of country. sorry for the long reply and when i get home the last thing on my mind is the forum....momma is LOL

so to answer your questions .... yes it will go right in.. I called S&S and they confirmed that all ironhorses had double springs handling the lift that the cam has. Now the tricky part is that you have to make sure you have the correct pushrods. I was lucky and had them. Call S&S they were a handfull of help.......
