hi, i found a 72 paughco for sale. it is a basic sportster frame right? i did a google search, and i found some with jap engines. is it just a build it the way you want thing? i emailed the guy, but haven't been able to talk to him. the ad says it runs but the oil lines leak. is this a real bad thing? what else do i look at to see if its a rip off? thanks
Are You for real? If you want some help post some pics! Without them all I can tell You is Paughco has made frames for many years and for many - many - many different applications. These are aftermarket frames either replacement or custom frames. Find out what you are buying. Is it a Sporty drive line or something else. Ask the seller how it is tittled and what year the engine, trans, frt end is.
Don.t be afraid to ask,if there is nothing to hide the seller will answer you! Good Luck !

i googled it. all that comes up is sporty builds. i looked at a far away picture off craigslist. it doesn't look like a v motor. i get home late at night. i think the guy might get pissed if i call. i am sure there are people on this forum can give me more info than i can find off a google search. if i knew it all, i wouldn't ask.
Your description is vague at best. I'm assuming it's a sporty in a pos pacho frame. How about posting the link to the bike. I don't think anyones going to buy it out from under you. Sounds like a mess if ya want to know. Or post the pic in here.
i will probably wait for the winter for prices to drop. it will give me time to save up some money too. what should i look for in a "custom built" bike? what issues should i look for? i like choppers, and see alot for sale but all seem to be jap bikes. i really want american made.
You probably need to do some homework before you spend on something and don't know what it is. As another poster said, paughco makes all kinds of different frames.
