Default EVO Ignition Help

I looked all over, but need help. I have an early 90's EVO we are puttin in a hard tail fram. i have the 3 wires, red(pink)/white, black/white, green/white coming from the cam senson (electronic). Is there anyway to wire this without an ignition Module?? I have a dual fire coil and know the b/w and p/w end up on the coil, but I don't have a module or a VOES. I rather not use them...low on cash. Can it be done???

Just found it's a 95-96 touring motor. Hope that helps!

Not that I know of. All three wires from the cam sensor go to the module, then from the module to the coil and VOES. If you want to do it cheap, you can change it over to points ign. I did that on my old Sportster for about $35 when the module went bad, but that was 15 years ago. You might want to check in to that anyway. You might be able to pick up a cheap module from someone that changed their's out for and upgraded one. Good luck

You need either the module or a self contained electronic ignition for the nose cone. I see used modules on E-Bay from when folks switch over to nose cone ignitions (but, you know, used electrical parts are a crap shoot.) The cheapest nose cone ignition is probably the Ultima. Jireh has it for $109 and free shipping. These are actually manufactured by Dynatek and re-branded as Ultima. I've had one in my bike for about a year with no issues.

Default Thanks

Thanks guys. I am putting the bike together for a buddy and he "broke bread" to get the Crane HI-4. That will save me a crap load of wiring. I did in the mean time pick up a 96 module and VOES off Ebay from a bike shop. Bike was running and like you said, they switched to nose cone module. I have $54 into the parts, so if you know anyone looking, send them my way. Thanks again.
