Depending on the kicker kit Jims Machine make a kicker shaft that is 3/4" longer , moves the arm out away from the pipes been using them for years .
so then all non kicker pipes would work????I don't use my kick start anymore due to cam timing as well as compression but without it the bike looks odd

Unless the pipes are way offset out away from the frame like say the thunderheaders are it's cleared everything I've tried so far with several bikes . The stock shaft with my Cycle shack dual's would just touch unless I jinked the pipe in , looked like crap and lowered it , with the Jims shaft I can run fingers in between easy and the pipes are lined up clean & straight with the lines of the bike .
I'm a shade under 12-1 compression in mine , I have to use the kicker regular even with the Big ***** or the Ultima beefy starter and a 500CCA battery . I'm wondering why your having issues honestly , all the kicker kits I've installed on 5 speeds stick way the hell out away from the side of the bike anyway . I'd say a good inch or more than the 4 speeds did .

Mine is a 4 spd evo that has been hard to start since it was put together the last time.It also seems to sump a lot when you need to kick start it----------I am planning on more inches this winter so if I can get it to that point we will start over the tune

What ignition you running ? Stock is a bitch to kick and most like the cranes have a 2 rev limiter you have to disable to get a kicker to work properly . I run the high end stainless bearing advance unit and the Dyna S single fire in most builds with a kicker , proper carb , cam & tune they can be a one kick bike with those , my 93" shovel @ just under 12-1 will usually do the second kick like clockwork .
its got some generic that 2 wheelers recommends for ignition but I can't remebr what it was other than its what there favorite was to sell but no rev limiter .I had the top end redone after it suffered from a missed gear and a bent valve or two ever since it hasn't been right.I should of towed it home on a trailer but I got lazy and had a dealer fix it.The one thing is the kid was young and has turned into one heck of a twin cam power guy
