Questions on Bourget's Fat Daddy 117c.i.
i have a bourget's bike works fat daddy, with a 280 rear tire and an SS 117ci engine. i got caught in a bit of slow moving traffic and noticed that the engine became a bit too hot for my comfort. Has anybody else experienced anything similar to this? i'm just in my break-in period( 1350 mi. to date... plan to do this till 2000 mi...), and this is the first really "hot" ride. is installing an auxilliary oil cooler recommended, despite the "oil-in-frame" design that the bike is noted for? would appreciate inputs... thanks.

If it got hot, and you will run into the same conditions again, I'd vote for the cooler. It won't do much in slow moving traffic, but the little bit of extra capacity, and the little bit of extra exposed surface would help, even if it's just a double-little-bit.

I got caught in traffic once on a new 93" shovel powered bike with a cooler and it did not take long before it was way to hot.That is not good,you want to avoid those situations as much as you can.You can litterally seaze the motor if it gets too hot.Ithappened to a friend once years ago.
