Default Swirl Marks in Vivid Black again...

I know this has been covered many time but there seems to be a different answer in each post...

I have a black Street Glide and wow I have a ton of swirl marks. I want to get them out and not cover them up. I don't think I need to clay it but I know I need to strip the wax.

So I plan on doing to bellow and need recommendations on swirl remover.. Can or should I do something different?

Best way to strip the wax? 50/50 alcohol and water???
What should I use next to get the swirls marks out? I plan on using my craftsman 6 inch polisher.
Polish it next with "Klasse All In One" Should I use something else?
Seal it with "Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze"
Then Wax it with Some "NXT"

If your bike has not been clayed before it would be a very good idea to do so.
Polishing will remove old wax. ISO/Water will not hurt but really is not necessary if you are polishing. ISO/Water is a good way to check your work while polishing to make sure defects are gone and not covered up.
Craftsman Polisher? Is this one of those machines that use bonnets over a foam pad? If so they will not remove defects. You will need more power and faster speeds to break down abrassive polishes.
Klasse products are fine. AIO is a chemical polish and will remove slight micromarring but will not do much for swirls. There is some debate as to how much cleaning action NXT has. IMO dont use it over SG as it may remove it.
For the future, re-evaluate your washing and drying techniques and products. A good 90% of swirls come from that.

To strip the wax/polish use Dawn dishwashing detergent. It will remove any and all wax/polish. I use Zanio Bros. Products for all my detailing. Finest Products on the market. Have used them for years on my Corvettes and Scoots.

I could explain how their swirl remover etc. works but you would be better off just going to their site. http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...roduct_Count=4

Here is the sears polisher I have. I don't it's like the one your thinking of 3 dog. http://www.sears.com/sr/javasr/produ...seBVCookie=Yes

I am going to head out to the store now and see what they have. I will buy a good carnuba wax with no cleaners in it and pick up a clay bar too. Im having a hard time finding a good polish in the stores so it looks like I might have to order some. Thanks for the link and idea to use Dawn TM (I actualy knew that and tottal forgot). But since I am polishing I guess I don't have to do that...

DO NOT use that polisher/sander. You will end up burning right through the paint. Rotary type buffers need lots of practice. They should also be able to accept foam polishing pads in various degrees and be ajustable in speeds of 800 to 1500 rpms. Never use a bonnet on a rotary and never use a one speed rotary.
Good polishes to use by hand are hard to find locallly. ScratchX being about the best in a parts store.
This is an excellent polish to use by hand:

I know Sal says to use Dawn to strip wax..that along with cotton towels has been on his site for 20 years. Personally it probably wont hurt to do that once a year but if you are polishing its not needed. The long term effects of dawn on seals and gaskets isstill under controversy.

Thanks for the reply 3dog. I ended up buying some Mothers clay bar (expensive as hell), Mothers pure carnuba and some of this Wizards Scratch remover (link below) for the swirlmarks. The guy at Lee autoparts said it worked great so I figured I woudl try it on the underside of a bag... If that don't work I will order the stuff you gave me a link too...

I am not familiar with Wizards. It does say on the site that its a pre wax cleaner which would lead me to believe it is a polish and not a filler. It could turn out to be a good find.
Remember to use only a small piece of clay. Break off a small portion and knead it in your hand to small aroun the size of your palm. That should be plenty to do your bike. Keep kneading as needed. If you drop it....throw it away.

Wash
Clay
Polish
Klasse AIO
Klasse SG
(next day) Wax

Waxing after SG will giving a warming effect. You may decide after using SG that you prefer the look without wax.

try a product called "GLARE POLISH" ,www.autopolish.net . its pricey ,but count up all the stuff you have sitting around your shelves. stuff is amazing, my sled is black cherry and its flawless. microfiber over time will leave spider swirls, this stuff removed them in 1 app.passed on the kit to my bro w/ vivid black rkc and his sled is sick.it almost makes me wish i had black paint!!!

Thanks for your help 3dog! I am going to give it a shot tomorrow. I got this from the site (and on the bottle). This is why I bought it and I got that from all your posts. I will be applying by hand.

Suspect. Your tank looks great but what worries me is when I went to the site is said it permanently "FILLS" the scratches. I want to get them out...

SCRATCH REMOVER[/b][/b][/b] Use SCRATCH REMOVER by hand or machine to gently remove minor scratches and swirls caused by car washing, neglect or mishaps. SCRATCH REMOVER is safe and recommended for all types of paint, clear coats, fiberglass and most plastics. As a safe and easy alternative to harsh rubbing compounds, SCRATCH REMOVER will remove moderate fading, scuffs and blemishes to perform as a "pre-wax cleaner" and return paint to a high gloss vibrant color.
NOTE: SCRATCH REMOVER is NOT a quick fix cover up that will wash off or temporarily hide marks on paint; hand rubbing or buffing is required.
[/b]DIRECTIONS:[/b]
Shake bottle before use.
Always begin on a clean, cool dry surface.
For hand application, apply SCRATCH REMOVER to a small folded cloth and rub into area with a firm back-and-forth motion until area is restored, reapplying as necessary.
For machine use, apply SCRATCH REMOVER generously to pad or surface, working one small area at a time. Apply pressure to speed up the process, moving slowly and reapplying as needed. For fastest results, use a high speed buffer with WIZARDS #11203 wool blend pad or #11204 foam pad.
Protect the cleaned surface with WIZARDS SHINE MASTER #11033 or WIZARDS SUPREME SEAL #11500. Maintain gloss with MIST-N-SHINE Detailer #01214 and MULTI-FIBER detail cloth #11420.
