How to prevent the tech in the dealers from damaging my paint when he preps the new bike for collection?
Surely they will polish it over for the new customer, how do I prevent them causing damage and when I go to get the bike is it right to expect it to be spotless and absolutely swirl free...is that the normal standard and therefore anything less I should reject?
Finally where to get the QD items you mention, any brand you recommend??
I really do appreciate your input and taking time to reply.
I polished my new RK within a week of picking it up. Harleys are crated so the do not have film applied that must be removed. IMO you should tell them you will do all the cleaning. Just make it clear to the service manager what you want and that you are fanatical about your paint. He should not have any problem with that. Remember you are making the payments not the dealer.
Mothers or Meguiars QD's will be fine and you can pick them up at any auto parts store.

Makes no difference. If you are implying something about swirls, then swirls are minor scratches (micromarring). If something is causing that it will be done wheter moving back and forth or in circles.
