I have a small one that just attaches to my hose, I use that on my bike all the time. Spray it, let it sit for a few minutes, rinse, then it is just a quick and simple wash. Foaming really helps loosen up the dirt/bugs. I do keep a good sealant on the bike at all times.
Here is my wash setup that I use with an Adam Polishes foam cannon. The filter is a D.I. Rinse Pro 50 that I made to use for the final rinse. I havent tried it on the bike, but have washed a dark blue truck, in the sun, and had no water spots when dry. Im hoping for the same results on the bike.
I usually wash, and dry with a leaf blower, and had good results and am going to use this for a final rinse and the use the leaf blower. My goal with this is to have a hands free wash and not have to touch it and eliminate swirls, and hopefully the foam cannon and associated soap will do whats needed.
I totally agree with the OP and offer my congrats to Blackfire WW and to Eaglefan for recommending it. I live in AZ part of the year. The water there is referred to as "liquid rock". It is impossible to wash a vehicle without leaving really bad spots. Add to that that the main component in the atmosphere is dust, keeping a vehicle presentable is quite a task.
BF and EF made it a lot easier.
