I have the stock 13-spoke contrast rims on my '04 Lowrider. Looking for the right product to make the (now) polished aluminum shine even more and the matte black look darker and sleeker--and maybe that seals and protects a bit, too. Not looking for a polish, that's done, but more of a finishing spray or something. I love what Lemon Pledge does for my painted surfaces. Is there something especially good for rims?
I guess my sarcasm didn't work. First, your bike use whatever you like and want to.
Pledge is for furniture. I leave all household products in the house. I use products that are designed for automotive paint, if I'm working on paint.
Sounds like you want something to spray on and be done. Is the wheel clear coated?

Not anymore. I've spent many long hours with aluminum polish, and now my lower forks and my wheels are very shiny. They actually look better than chrome to me. But I was looking for that final finishing touch to protect and add to the shine, that helps the bare aluminum as well as the matte black parts. Some people use a good wax, I've seen since posting this. But believe it or not, Pledge is no joke either. Was just looking for what others might use for their bikes once they have it all cleaned and polished up.
There was a long discussion on here about pledge. How long do you think pledge will last on wheels with brake dust hitting it? Exactly.
For bare metal, a wheel coating is a option. Or, get the forks powder coated. Another on is to get them wrapped.
See how many people use pledge on their rides or customers rides. Does nothing more then a dirt cheap shine that fixes nothing and doesn't last. If you are entering that bike in a show and don't have time to polish the paint properly maybe then.

Nevermind. I don't think you are getting what I am asking about (or trolling?). I'm not advocating Pledge as a way to polish, clean or as some sort of long term protectant. I'm not advocating Pledge at all. I'm asking what others use once all the cleaning and polishing is done and everything already shines, like as a last step. It would, by nature, be something temporary, probably repeated whenever you wash it. Just to bump it up a final notch.
If your looking to protect you rims . Check out a product called
SHARK HIDE. Saw it on the T.V. show My Classic Car.. Use it after your cleaning is complete..

LSP for no clear on metal, this will work https://www.detailedimage.com/22ple-...ct-description
Having a clear film put on might be a option also.
The issue will be that you removed the clear and paint sealants and coatings are designed to adhere to the clear, not bare metal. If it was mine I would put the rim coating on it and see how it does
As for painted stuff on a bike, Polish Angel Cosmic V2, topped with their High Gloss. Nothing looks better on polished paint then this combo.
Not a troll Scott. Been here a while and received some great info on my motor and audio build along with some other stuff. I try and help with info I have gathered over the years doing paint correction and vehicle maintenance that pertains to this kind of stuff.
Ive had a side gig detailing vehicles for 10+ years. Ive been around a polisher a few times. When I see Pledge referenced it hits a nerve. Some people think that its the best thing since sliced bread.
