Yep, same issue here. I checked out the Flex website after Andy from Sandys post, and they only offer pads in metric options, a 40mm-which is about 1-1/2 inches, and a 60mm -about 2-1/4 inches and they are only 25 mm thick to boot-about an inch. So the search continues, I might just get that kit from AG that includes another 2 backing plate, or I might try the Carpro Nano kit
with a nice flat surface, a thinner pad is just fine, but in a valley of a fairing, there is an advantage in a thicker pad, not a huge difference, but a little bit easier and safer with a thicker pad
Yeah I was off today and wanted to do a little more but its just too freakin cold, what with the bomb cyclone and all whatever the hell that is. Its 6 degrees here is all I know (extremely rare) so my *** is layin on the couch today. But anyway, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, thanks again for the help and Ill put some pics up as I progress, might start a new thread
Thanks eaglefan- I knew someone would come through with something. These Lake Country pads look interesting, with tapered edges for curvy surfaces, I may give them a try.
I finally got a free day to finish up the outer fairing went back over the entire thing with Uber/orange pad and Finishing Glaze/black pad, got it looking presentable anyway. The rain held out, so I got it coated as well, I really like the Polish Angel products, theyre easy to use and man do the really make **** shine ! Used the Primer, Cosmic and topped with High Gloss spritz using the process CaffeineBuzz suggested. Really happy with the results, cant wait to get started on the rest of my bike (I brought the fairing inside for tonight to allow it to cure, not sure how well this stuff works in colder temps). Thanks Buzz again for the guidance and everyone for suggestions and tips
Polish Angel Cosmic and High Gloss are the real deal. However, polishing is were the magic happens. Looks like you got that paint figured out
Looking good! Looking forward to the "All Done" pictures
