There are lots of good and bad coatings out there. Some do some things better then others. "Usually" with a bike, longevity is not an issue.
If you have not applied a coating before, ease of application should be the most important part. A coating is only as good as the prep. Screw the prep up and no coating will last as long as its supposed to

Actually after having my boat in salt water, and I power wash it down, I do a quick wipe down of the chrome and stainless steel with lemon pledge. It quickly removes the salt stains.
I hadn’t thought about it before, but that would be a good test for a ceramic coating. I’m gonna give that a try.
