Default Chrome Care

I've used Mother's Chrome polish for some time now and it does okay but tends to leave a white residue on my black plastics and such that is a pain to remove.

I tried some NU-Finish and it seems to do good and not leave a mess, but I'm not sure how well it will actually protect Chrome sinceit's more for paint.

I'm down on the Gulf Coast and rust will show up in a hurry if you don't keep stuff sealed and protected.

Whatare you all using?

I prefer Wenol, but I've heard from the shops around here that Simichrome is also good.

Same Dilemma as I live on the west coast of Florida. I have used Semichrome with good results, but it doesn't seem to last. On some local advice, I just tried some Turtle Wax Ice that is readily availble and is a polymer. I'm very pleased with the results so far and this stuff leaves no residue and leaves a really slick finish. My wife is a water slopper around our sinks. As a real world test I just treated the kitchen faucet with Ice last week. The finish is still very slick and the water just beads up. So far, so good I like this stuff .

NU Finish is also made to be used on chrome according to what it's label says.I use it and won't use anything else.Once you've applied it a few timesthere's a solid base coat, your chrome surfaces are verywell protected and have a brilliant shine. After that, just need a touch up once in a while.Seems to hold up exceptionally well on hot surfaces likepipes....bugs etc. seem to wipe offeasier....

Haven't used it on paint yet,but I'm really tempted to try it.....

Used all those and they do not compare to Old English Polish. They have a Hot Chrome Polish that is awesome. They also have a polish for billet that will make it look like chrome.

Wash chrome using your choice of cleaner.
Then use California Custom Purple metal polish.
After the polish use Carnauba Wax step 3. You will love the results.

Works very well on rims. Removes and protects the wheel from brake pad dust.
