Default Carpro Reflect

Another question for out detailing gurus. What speed do I need to use to get the best results with fairly hard paint. Also can Reflect be used as the second step for paint correction, or does it need to be a third step after compound and polish? Since I already have it, I’m using Griots Garage correcting cream and their perfecting cream.

The pads I’m using are the 5 inch Rupes ultra fine white finishing pad or the 3 inch Carpro gloss pad. I m probably going to order a couple more Carpro gloss pads soon if the Rupes pads don’t give me the he results I want. Thanks again in advance.

With these new compounds and polishes you "Should" be able to go from compound to finishing. However, there are a lot of things that could change that.

Obviously a test section first. Compound a larger then normal area and then split it into 2 sections. Test the perfecting cream directly next to Reflect and see what you have.

Ok thanks Eagle. It’s been hit and miss trying to do paint correction with the weather here, but at least no snow. Thanks again for replying.

Agree with eagle. I will add that I would fully expect you to be able to go straight from Correcting Cream to Reflect no problem as CC usually finishes down really nice on its own.

Eagle and Gizmo, thanks for the info. I think I have found the right pads for the Reflect. The other day I was using the black Griots pad with Reflect and wasn’t getting good results. I ordered some Rupes white pads and the results were there. I also increased the speed to 4-4 1/2 from 3. It’s supposed to be cold and windy for the rest of the weekend and most of next week. Guess I’m gonna have to wait.

Thanks for setting me straight on the correction cream. The weather cooperated this afternoon so I could get a little done and the Reflect worked great after the correction cream. The panels turned out great. I wish I had an enclosed garage so I can do it all at once. Thanks again.

I went straight from compound to Reflect. It turned out great. Thanks. One of these days I’ll get the hang of this paint correction.

I have been able to get out and work on it the past few days and have noticed that I am definitely getting the hang of it because I’m getting more done in the same period of time. The Correcting cream is getting the job done, finishing out to a nice finish and the Reflect is finishing great. If I had an enclosed garage I would probably be done by now. I hope that I don’t mess up the LSP up by taking so long to finish paint correction. Hopefully, I can do a rinse less wash followed by my panel prep before applying Cancoat.
