Default Using the pressure wash???

I know this might be considered voodo, but does an occasional pressure wash with a good dry and long ride afterwards really hurt a bike? I rode it for an hour in a dirty rain yesterday, and think this might be the only answer... Any suggestions? Have had lots of Hondas and Yamahas that have been pressurewashed lots....
Thanks, Craig

I use mine all the time on wheels and under frame. Just stay away from electrical stuff and gauges.

Stay away from wheel bearings, steering bearings, and swing arm bearings. You can easily wash the grease out of them with a pressure washer.

I think it would be fine as long as the pressure wasn't too high. Wouldn't want to screw up the paint.

sorry fellas!!!

I HAVE SEEN PRESSURE WASHER BLOW CHROME RIGHT OFF A BIKE !!!

In 2003 while working @ Beach Street HD during bike week things bowed up on us detailing because of storms..to catch up they hooked up the pressure washer and I saw it happen with my own eyes.

Any electric yard blower without the extender tubes is fine for drying!
but PLEASE DONT USE A PRESSURE WASHER!

A regular old good bathing takes only about 20 mins and yard blower will thoroughly blow your bike dry in about another 30-40.Its a normal hour in what is in a standard full detail appt of about 4 hours total. WELL WORTH THE TIME!

Yup, I've seen pressure washers blow chrome off, blowpaint off in big long strips, and not even remove the road film from the big strip of paint it just peeled off. Pressure washers are for removing built up grease and grime from machinery, like your greasy old D9 Cat, not for washing your car or bike.

Pressure washers should be avoided. They force water into places it doesn't belong, like wheel bearing seals, gauges, switches, etc. They canalso damage gaskets when used repeatedly.

Reb, point well taken, I'm more into a pump up sprayer with a couple of oz. of simply green a then a good blow job, Ok and then after that if she wants to help dry the bike I'm cool with that.
