Default Flaw on the tank!

Just to let you guys know the update...

got the new 08 SG I was talking about and there is a flaw on the tank paint.

Seems like small 'pock marks' or 'craters' underneath the clear.

Anyhow the dealer is going to replace it, but just wanted to update.

By the way the swirls on this new bike were incredible, so thanks anyway 3Dog but it seems I will have to use a clay bar anyhow and redo all the paint once I get the new tank.

Heaven knows what Harley is thinking to let bikes come off the line with paint like this, guess it is supply and demand...so they drop the standards to feed the masses!

Any tips for using the clay bar, how to work round the tank badge etc?

It will be my first time and I am nervous as hell about it!

My new scoot had the same thing, a flaw on the tank. It looked as though some of the paint had run or been smudged before it had dried. The my dealer was very upset said he had never seen something like that. They replaced the tank and gave me some free stuff for my inconvienence so I wasn't too upset. I was a little shocked that something like that could make it through quality control though.

Agreed to replace mine too, no problems.

Just now have to wait 10 weeks for it to come in!

Beginning to sound like a return to the AMF days....

Nothing new. My 1993 FLHS was delivered with a thumb and partial palm print under the clear coat on the tank.
