I must have picked up some road-striping paint. It's on the heat shield between the front and rear pipes on my Ultra. I've tried Windex and Pledge. I've tried scraping with my thumbnail, which gives limited results. I'm paranoid about using anything abrasive. Is there any product out there that can remove this stuff without hurting the bike?
Take the scoot for a ride and get the pipes good and hot. Once they are still hot after your shut it off use some chrome polish on a rag. It worked for me when I had a plastic grocery bag jump up from the road and melt all over the right side of my pipes. Now you could never tell it happened.
If that doesn't work. Take the shield off of the bike and use "Easy off" oven cleaner. Be sure to take it off because it'll eat some paint. BE CAREFUL.

Thanx. Is there any particular chrome polish that is better than the rest?

Thanx. I was considering that, too. I'll definitely remove the heat shield if I go that route. Thanx for the heads-up.
