Fork Case Restoration?
Last year I purchased a 99 SuperGlide with 4k miles but had sat in a garage with no moisture control through every winter during storage and consequently the metal took a beating. I have the chrome looking good but the aluminum pieces are another story. I polished the motor cases with a buffer using wendol and they came out nice. The wheels were a challenge but I decided not to try and save the clear coat (if any) and polished those also. The fork tube cases appear to be pitted but with a heavy coat of clear on them I'm not sure what may the best way to clean them up short of removing the clear coat and polish the bare aluminum? I also thought about chrome 'fork skins' but not sure that is what I want to do.
I'm open for suggestions please!
TIA,

TIA,
I assume you're talking about the lower fork legs. If you want them to look almost like chrome, take 'em off and take to a metal finisher. A good one should be able to buff them up nice for about $75. Hope this helps.
