I bought a 1999 Ultra Classic. Spent all winter working and cleaning it. Installed chrome lower fork legs. Installed lots of chrome. Really need to stay away from the Harley shops. But I think I've got it lookingreal good. But the engine fins need a little polishing. What would everyone suggest. Both the silver and the black.
I agree with the S100, great stuff on the black. Use it sparingly it's expensive about $10. On the edges I use Never Dull. I used to use scotch bright pads but the fins dulled up shortly.
An absolutly beautiful bike you have there!! I'm trying to talk the wife into riding but she doesn't want to ride the Heritage. I'm looking for an earlier dresser to add to the stable. I have an evo now and looking for a '97 or '98 evo ultra. Since the '99 Electa's were the first year of the twin cam I've been learing of getting one. Have you heard of any problems with the first twin cams? Is yours carb or FI. Didn't they change over to a different FI system on the newer bikes? I hear they still use the cheap cam brgs and they should be replaced at 49K. Is this true or a wives tale? I don't think I've ever seen a 2-tone paint job like yours, looks great! How many miles are on the scoot?
In 1999 they used a ball bearings and should have used a roller bearings on front cam bearings. They changed it in 2000. I had mine changed. Not that big a deal. Mine is Magnety Morelyfuel injected. In 2002 they went to a delfi fuel injection. They say it's suppose to be better. But they have some issues with it also. Mine runs fine. I installed Rinehart exhaust and had it flashed. Thanks for the compliments.
