Default rubbing out

What do I use to get rid of the scuff marks on the rear fender that my passenger seat left?

Great question, I've been wondering this too, except mine is from my fork bag hitting the front fender, but same net effect. Any help?

Swing by a paint shop and ask their opinion.
How bad is the scuff? If it is light you should be able to do it by hand. If it is heavy(ier) you may need a buffer. As to what to use...Mothers or Meguiars products.

It looks like the same color as the seat. There is even a grain like the leather. I tried bug remover which didn't seem to do anything so I assume it is into the paint.

If it is a scuff, polish will remove it. If not..do you see anything wrong with seat? If its vinyl transfer try 3M adhesive remover.

Meguiars #7, it's a machine polish but if used by hand in short, back forth strokes you'll get good results.

I use S100 shine-enhansing cleanser, it works well.

I would reccomend Meguiars Scratch X. And if you use the passenger seat temporarliy in the future, use some clear static cling type material to prevent these marks in the first place. It does not take much to induce marring on Harley paint. Fortunately, there seems to be plenty of clear coat over the paint. I have had scratches on my tank from the blue wipes at the gas stations, when someone left enought fuel in the nozzle to trickle onto the paint. Invest in a couple micorfiber cloths for these situations.
If you can't feel the scratches/scuffs with your fingernail, you are in a better situation for removal. I am betting with a bit of elbow grease you can remove those marks.
