Default Under my 2 up seat?

What does everyone use under the seat on their rides to keep the rear fender paint from getting scuffed up?

I usually ride with my solo seat and I like to have decent looking paint. Problem is my 2 up seat scuffs the paint on my rear fender.

I've tried a cotton t-shirt, towel and leather. All seem to scuff the paint after a while.

Any suggestions to keep my paint pristine?

+1 on this. I have the same problem and got a fresh set of tins on the way. My bike will never see a two-up seat again if I can't find a good solution. There is no way I am going to ruin a $1200 paint job.

I bought the seat bumper kit recomended in the HD catalog. So far, it's worked perfectly. The instructions say to stick them on the fender, but I stuck them to the seat. They just cost a few bucks.

Default no bumpers for this guy

I won't stick bumpers to my fender. It might be worth trying them stuck to my seat.
My motorcycle seat that is!
Like I said, most of my riding is with my solo seat.
I am looking for best material that comes off when I remove my 2 up seat.

Has anyone tried shammois? Either real leather or synthetic?

I too stuck the bumpers to the fender and haven't had any problems. If you do decide to stick them to the seat instead i would make sure the fender is clean and fresly waxed before using that seat.

I know some have used some type of felt, but I wanna know as well since I do most of my riding solo and maybe some occasional 2 up if the wife likes to ride. I still have to break her in. I hear what your saying 2NAHNTR. My paint job was $2500 bucks because it was from Harley of course (the robbers). I do love my paint, but what I know now I would have gone your route because I've seen some sick paint jobs for way less.

I know It's not exactly what you're lookin for but just to throw the option out there, you could use 3M paint protection film. I have installed it on many $40,ooo+ new cagers on hoods, rockers, mirrors etc. Clear and only noticable at short distances, but it IS noticable. but it will protect the paint

I had this same problem on my new "smoked" tins. I applied a heavy black felt from Wally World with spray on adhesive to the bottom of my solo and 2up seats. Works so far......

After learning the hard way I ended up using a microfiber towel folded and layed on the fender under the seat. Stays in place and you can fold or cut it so it doesn't protrude from under the seat. I am going to cut and adhere to the bottom of my seat this spring
