As Pilot stated try ScratchX first....always go with the least abrassive polish and see how it works....
One problem may be the paint being cured ( check your build date) I would think it was baked but you never know.
If you cant get the problem resolve with ScratchX, try and make it a warranty problem....if that doesnt work then try one of the glazes mentioned above to fill in the area.
Food for thought: Paper is made out of WOOD. Ya wouldn't rub a 2x4 on your tank, would ya? If I get a gasoline spill, I let it evaporate on it's own, and then wash n wax ASAP.
If you have any storage its a good idea to keep some spray&wash or quick detailer and a MF with you. You can pick up a 2 oz spray bottle at walmart to keep it small.
Paper is made from wood as stated in other post. Get a small zip lock bag and a small shop rag with a 2oz. bottle of detail spray. If you spill, use that instead of paper. Paper will scratch even if the paint is cured,period.
