I use Meguires for waxing and I use Mothers detail spray between waxings.
My buddy is partial to Turtle Wax.

Thanks,

Have any of you folks tried Klasse All-in-one and then their glaze! I've never seen anything better on dark paint! Very easy on and off, the glaze works better the longer it's left on. Very, VERY deep shine and it last a very long time as well.

Wax Hand Glaze

The wax is a hard wax with no cleaners just a good quality Carnuba wax.

The hand glaze is great for removing small scratches and giving the paint a high polish.

I usually buy my stuff from Car Care Specialties.

The owner Larry is a really good honest guy and will not steer you wrong.

I ordered a wax called Glare after reading about it on a MC website. It’s expensive about 36.00 a bottle. The MC site had some impressive before and after pictures to see.

http://www.autopolish.net/

It was rated higher then any other product they had tested.

It is used in Europe in some pretty bad weather and is said to protect against acid rain up to 5 years.

I have to say, its easy to use, looks great and what’s acid rain <grin> .

I wax mine once a month, I wash it with a mild auto cleaner/soap what ever is cheap. I use regular old turtle wax chrome polish and my favorite thing is using my leaf blower to get the water off.

I can say this about using Glare, when I rode a few hundred miles before the wax; my back fender and saddlebags were covered in road trash, grime thrown back up.

After Glare it has cut it down to at least 1/3 you can tell it’s dirty up close but not black like it was before, it would look like I rode in coal country after 200 to 300 miles. Some of that grime was the air hose leaking and throwing my right shock oil back also.

Living in Louisiana and riding along the Mississippi Tons of bugs..and rain. I like the rain, it washes off the bugs.

I just rode down to Pensacola Florida and back the next day so around 860 in miles. I rode in rain about a third of the way; my fairing had 1 bug spot on it. Now that was across Louisiana, Mississippi Alabama and Florida and back. My windshield showed a ton of buts, the only thing I can attribute that to was the Glare didn’t let a bug stick to it. Good stuff.

I second ccmoran, S100 wax... bought some this past weekend as first time waxing my bike. Takes a little more elbow grease for removal than say Meguiars or others i have used on cars before, but i think the result is better than what i have achieved with some of the more popular waxes already named. A couple of advantages i feel noteworthy of mentioning are 1) If you get wax on rubber, it does NOT whiten as it dries on surface as had been case with every wax i had used in past, 2) It does not powder when buffing like other popular waxes. The luster left behind on my paint was incredibly deep and rich, with no swirling whatsoever. Coat seemed to be excellent. Believe i paid around $14 at dealership, but i'll never use anything else on my bike again.. Intend to switch over and use on my cars also as really good stuff. fwiw

Okay guys, I received my order of Glare products today and have to say that so far I'm impressed! It is the deepest, wettest, most reflective product I've used to date.

I've used a lot of different products including waxes for quite some time, have been known to spend up to 8 hours detailing a bike from time to time.

Of some of my favorite products, S100 wax, Klasse All-in-one and Glaze, this product wins hands down.

If you go to the site listed earlier in the post you can take a look at testimonials, they have one from a HD Dealer that puts the product on every new bike going out of his door.

Cheers,
Joe

This is when it's been impossible to ride, right? 8 hours?!
