Default Salt water

I recently rode down to Galveston and had to leave my bike on the seawall over night well now I have spots on the rims where the salt water stayed. I arrived home the next day and rinsed the bike off for about 20 minutes trying to get rid of the salt. Any advice on how to get the rims back in good shape? I have a 2006 RK.
Thanks for any help.

I used Wesley's bleach white on my '07 ElectraGlide and spotted the rims. They cleaned up real nice with 3M medium rubbing compound. The compound got all over the tires, but a soft brush and water got that off. I thought the polished H.D. wheels were clear coated,...but I guess not!

Thanks for the information. The bleach may have done some of the damage to mine too. I have the 9 spoke wheels where the spoke is actually black. I will try the medium compound and let you know how it works out.
Thanks again

Default salt water

Try white vinegar / water it will remove all water spots including salt water. Trust me it works and a gallon of vinegar is like $1.50.......

Default or coke

Believe it or not Coke classic can work also. Anything that is a mild acid but don't let it sit long and be sure to rinse well

Default Saltwater and rims

Thanks for all the help guys. I bought a polishing wheel for my drill and just used regular wax on them they came clean, had me worried for a while. Thanks for the vinegar and coke answers I will try that next time. I really don't expect this to happen again I will go out of my way to make sure it doesn't. I found out real quick that drill sure moves faster than I can wax on wax off. LOL!!!
Thanks again

I've used never dull and it works without being abrasive to the metal.,
