is it ok to spray simple green all over the bike paint and chrome then rinse it off someone told me this is all they use does it leave any spots on the bike when it dries
I believe that Simple Green is basically a cleaner/degreaser and that when applied will remove any wax/protection to your paint and chrome. Which would mean you will need to wax paint and apply wax or chrome cleaner/polish after using SG. Personally I would not use it on painted surfaces.

+1 on this. Simple green even though it's biodegradable is still considered a degreaser. If you want an all over spray cleaner try a can of
S100 Total cycle cleaner. It's a spray on out of the can, let sit for a few minutes and hose off. You can spray the entire bike with it.I've used it several times. good product. Available at most all cycle shops.
Here is a link you can take a look at. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcyc...le-cleaner.htm

I would suggest NOT doing that.
Regular Simple Green straight out of the bottle might be a bit too concentrated to leave on any length of time. Many have reported streaking with high concentrations (I think the bottle says to cut it 20 or 30 to 1 for light cleaning).
WFIW, Simple Green Aircraft is also available. Both recommend dilution for light cleaning.
Personally, I would not allow any product to sit of the finish for more then a few seconds...again, that's just me.

Do not use it to wash your bike with. What you want is a good quality car wash soap that contains a water softener. Beyond that it can etch aluminum and cause rusting of steel.
Google it lots of bad stuff; Causes metal fatigue, antique toy restorers use it to take paint off, and it goes on.
There is an aircraft safe formula, that is safe for bikes, but it is not the one they sell at stores. You have to get it at FBOs.
After all that I will say that I use it diluted to clean the undercarriage, especially after I change oil - but I rinse it with a ridicules amount of water.
