I have some overspray on my bike from someone spray painting in the garage (that's another story so let's not go there)... anyway, the bike paint is fine and looks fine, but is rough to the touch. Has anyone cleaned off any slight overspray like this? If so... how, and any hints would be helpful. THANKS!
Car Polish... wash first then use car polish, put a little between your index finger and thumb so you can feel the grit. Then follow up with wax.
Don't spend too much time in one area so you don't scratch the surface.
Good luck!
Paint thinner then wax sometimes works... test a small area first...

I'd go with a "cleaner" wax first as it's probably the finest abrasive the average guy can get. Polish can be rough in the wrong hands and if you get no other results than "better than it was" go ahead with a very modest application of the polish. Years ago our neighborhood had a few punks that went around one night and sprayed painted various cars. Yeah, mine was one of them. Cleaner wax took it all of and left a better finish than what I started with. The only thing that sucked was I then had to do the entire car because it looked noticeably better in the right light. Silver lining I guess!
Also, if it's on the paint, did you check the chrome and such? Some Mother's polish will make that chrome come back sweet.

Detailer's clay. Any Auto Parts store will have Meguiar's or Mothers clay kits. It removes bonded contaminents from the paint surface before polishing or correction. It'll remove overspray, tar, rail dust and stuff you don't even know it's there. Once you use it and feel how smooth and slick your paint is without all the crud imbedded you'll use it on your car or anything you polish or wax.
Thanks... I'll give the cleaners was a try first and then progress as needed. The paint is still great (09 ultra), it just has a non-smooth surface feel like a grit is on it... it needs a light cleaning... but more than soap and water, I have cleaned it the best I can with a non-abrasive. I appreciate the help... never had this problem before and hope I don't again :-)
Auto paste wax will do the trick. We used to use it to take lettering off of race cars back when words were painted on instead of being vinyl stickons like now.

FWIW, professional detailers and enthusiasts ALWAYS clay before they polish. If not you end up grinding bonded contaminents into the paint. If you're not overly particular it may not matter. If you've got the miserably soft Vivid Black your results will be starkly different if you clay before polishing.
