I would try PIG SPIT. I use it on my Night Train and love the stuff. Really makes the black engine and the wrinkle black pop...

Not sure by what you mean by buffed up, but I highly recommend PIG SPIT and also SIMPLE GREEN (walmart/grocery store)for blemishes like oil, grease, deposits.

For blacked out bikes, I use:

Windex for the denim paint (recommended by HD also) and for chrome
PIG SPIT for engine and wrinkle black parts
Simple Green for detailed cleaning on junk on the bike
HD Tire and Wheel cleaner
Mothers Mag Alum and Mag for the wheels with a heavy duty scotch brite pad.

If you put a shiny spot on the denim finish, tryin to take out a mark, that area is gone and it will always be that way. There is nothing you are going to do to be able to bring a matte finish back to it......
I think that alot of people don't understand the denim finish... if you scratch it, you can't really fix it. It's really hard to describe....
If you have the usual bike or car paint, it's shiny, and if you scratch it, you can take the whole surface down and reduce the look of the scratch. Cause buffing and polishing make the surface smoother.
If you have a matte or denim finish, and you try to polish it that way, you do the same thing, you take off the rough surface and make it smoother. Just in the area you are polishing. There is no way to put it back.

I guess I misunderstood your post. If its on small scratch or mark on the denim paint, there is not much to do with it as nighttraingirl stated. Just learn to love it and now its "custom"

If I polish my matte black will it shine up glossy or just become shinier?
