The bug splatt was on for a while, and I've been out of town... I'll try these methods this week and see what happens.

Try Wizards "all in one" detailing spray. The stuff works great on chrome as well.

Fill a bucket with the hottest water you can handle. Drop in a micro fiber towel and wring it out. while its steaming, lightly move it. No chemical, no scrubbing, just patience.

I agree with the clay bar. Just make sure you use plenty of clay lube or it will try to sitck.

Lemon Pledge works best for me on my Vivid Black RGU. You can buy it for a buck at the Dollar Store. Works on paint, rubber, plastic, chrome, and most evey part of your bike. Won't leave white smutz on your engine black.

I just take a wet towel, let it sit a few minutes on your painted area which softens up the bugs and then they generally just wipe off w/out too much fuss.

Agreed, this is an old bikers trick.
Take a big wet towel (not too wet) and lay it on your batwing.
Let it sit! 10-30 minutes.
The bugs melt right off without the danger of damaging your paint.
I've done it a hundred times.

It's a simple trick and it works!
