Thankfully wasn't worse, now's the time to get all those little chips dings anything that was there before tell the adjuster that it happened then. I got taken out in July, guy came through a stop sign,$10,000 worth of damage and it was a 14 Ultra with 10,000 mi and had every painted part replaced except front fender plus lots of other things,in total 41 parts,a lot of them are very use able. so I have spare parts, and a lot I've already sold. So get what you can outta them that's your only recourse. JMO
Sorry to hear about your misfortune.
I guess my time is coming soon......(seems to be just a matter of time for all of us)....been riding accident free since the 80's.....less of course what happens on the racetrack.
Glad you're doing ok and they're taking full responsibility.
I recently had a car t-bone me, I was in my car. It was pretty huge though.
Some 17 year old girl with three friends, all watching You Tube, ran a red light.
At the accident site she admitted to the officer that she didn't know what the color was, then changed her statement and admitted she ran a red, probably realized if she didn't know what the color was she should not be driving.
Then later changed it again when her insurance company took her statement.
This time she went for the gold and said I RAN A RED LIGHT.........unreal.......
Anyway, long story short, luckily I had a witness who was kind enough to pull over - he was going over on the same green light I was on. Her insurance company took full responsibility.
Lesson learned: Always, always, always try to find a witness.
You can't never relax on a bike; have to always anticipate what a cager is going to do...does take the fun out of riding....you got lucky...plus she had insurance, thats a rare luxury here in Irving Tx.....
Happy to hear your ok. Man there are so many idiots out there that are oblivious to what's going on, EVERYBODY IS ON THEIR PHONE! I got cut off today in traffic and when I pulled up screaming at the idiot he looked at me like he had no idea that he did anything wrong. I wanted to take his mirror home with me.. Heal up man, get back on a bike as soon as you can and getting a lawyer may not be a bad idea either
Might want to consider a headlight modulator (flasher).
After a similar crash (the guy "didn't see me", insurance company totaled the bike) I put one on the replacement bike. After riding with that for about a year, I was impressed enough with the positive difference that I put one on my other bike too.
