Default 10" Risers on 09 SuperGlide Custom

Doing a set of Biltwell Tracker bars and 10" Murdock risers on my 09 SG-C. Can anyone tell me measurements of the extended cables I need to get? I am not paying HD $400 in labor for something I am capable of doing myself with a service manual and the proper parts. Is there a way to calculate the extensions I need or should I install the bars and break out the string? Help or tips are appreciated. Thanks

That's only about 12in off the top tree. If your bike had the stock buckhorns you'll have enough of everything without buying any parts. I've gone 12in with stock dynas with just rerouting and pulling a bit of wiring out from the backbone. Best way though is to actually mock the bars up and see what you'll need then rather than guessing now. You're gonna love that setup, I've ran it lots of times and it looks/feels killer. I'd recommend trimming alittle off the ends of those bars though. They're kinda wide stock. I move the controls all the way to the end of the dimples as far they'll go. Then measure your grips and trim the excess off the bar ends. Usually about 1-1.5in .

Default Cables

Don't remember the length of cables, but if you have dual front brakes the lines off a road glide work perfect. When me and a buddy put the 13 inch bars on mine we had brake lines from a road glide laying around and tried them. The only thing I changed was the clutch cable and that was like $70 at the dealer for black line, re-ran throttle and works perfect. 99 FXDX is what I have.

Put the bars on. Looks like I'll need to extend the brake cable about 3 1/2 inches and the throttle and idle cables 2 1/2 inches. The wiring is all ok and the clutch seems to be fine as well. It runs right along the bars and down the riser post. Not much extra slack in the cable but no binding or stretching either.

You might be able to reroute those throttle cables to get more. I always remove the idle cable anyways, I like it with only one cable, less cluttered. Can usually run the cable just under the tank and up in front of it behind the trees and up to the grip. Post some pics. I've got 8.5in risers and Sportster bars (4.5in rise) coming this week. Hoping my own advice works lol
