One other small thing: they collect bugs. I got the gloss finish (they're available in wrinkle) for that reason and they do wipe off pretty easily.

Here they were before I had them painted

I got the mediums with the standard cut. This reminds me I need to go get them from paint

Crap. I didn't think of that. I got that the medium coffin cut in matte.

Sweetness! I am getting my dash dipped in hydrographics and was thinking of doing these also if I don't like the finish.

Don't worry about bugs sticking to the matte paint. They don't. That is, they wash off just fine if you're in to that whole washing thing.

Just ordered some JD med. coffin cut gloss blacks for myself.

I emailed them with a few questions this morning, and got replies within 15min! Excellent service so far! And $58 is powder coated and shipped, not a bad price if you ask me since I see others that are just steel, painted, and more simple for $75+

Got the hand guards in the mail today! JD Customs & Fabrications works fast, ordered on October 14 and receive them today October 17. I ordered the matte black, but technically it's a wrinkle black which I like better. I can see where you have to have the hand controls tilted up a bit. Mine are pretty much straightforward and up a tab. I could feel the cold air on the top of my knuckles on this 50 degree windy day in South Dakota. So I will have to bring my controls up a bit. Here's a couple pictures so you guys can see what they look like on 12 inch Chubby's wild one handlebars. These are the medium coffin cut.

Also I want to say thanks to everyone for giving me the advice for these awesome hand guards.

Yeah, I just installed a set of JD's Gloss Black Medium Coffin Cuts. Fit well, look good, and a great deal for $58. Only wonder if I should have bought the large for more coverage. Now if I add a heated vest I'll be ready for the cold weather.

In a way I almost wish I would've got the large ones. But I was too afraid they would be two humongous looking.
