I didnt care today. I had an itch to ride. I walked right past my truck and hopped on the bike. Sun was out at lunch-time so I took a little ride to get gas. Took the LOOOOOOOOOOOONg way back to work. Now I am stuck at work fixing one of our wonderful systems and its getting cloudy and cold. Its going to be a shitty ride home....
45 is a heat spell....Me and a co-worker of mine ride year round and God knows if I tap-out on a day he rode I'llnever hear the end of it....I think 25 was the coldest ride this year.....took awhile for the boys to drop after that ride....[:@]

What kind of rain suit do you have? Do you wear heated vest or gloves?
I ride year round (Pac NW) ... I have a Himalaya rain suit, but the pants are starting to go.
I don't have heated gloves, but my hands are freezing if it's lower than 40 degrees when I set out in the mornings (I have about a 40 minute commute). I've been thinking of buying some.
I have one of those neoprene face masks that keep my face and neck warm in the rain and cold. I've been using 40gm insulated gloves, but not too effective when it's really cold.
If you've got any recommendations, I'd like to hear them. Thanks!
i live in the Cascade foothills just south of Mt. St. Helens. Even during the summer, its normal for it to be between 45 and 55 in the mornings. Last summer it was above 60 only a couple times.
I freeze my *** off every morning, but its worth it for the after work ride home. I have a medium size T-bag that all my cold weather gear gets stuffed into every afternoon (long underwear, sweatshirt, etc)
Priest,
Don't have traditional rain gear...I ride in a Rev-it rideing suit(when I remember to check the weather)the liner zips out and it's Gore-tex..I can wear it year round....I'll be honest If it's dry when I leave in the morning...I get wet on my way home....Not fun but it's amazing what you can get used to...It's easier to keep a back up pair of boots than to carry rain gear every day...Keep the rubber side down...LATER
