I have a buddy that made one for his bike, he took a stock fxdwg sissy bar for his mounts and basically bent the steel into the shape he wanted and rewelded it. Sorry I don't have pictures of it tho

I built this Sissybar for my Softail I used to have. Depending on if you have your fender strut bolts free you could mount it similar to this (See pics). I turned those mounting eyelets down on a laithe and welded the sissybar to those so I could bolt it on or take it off easy. You could also just make a template of what you need and make some generic side plates yourself and weld some round or square solid stock right to them. If it is just a custom top half you want to be different you also could just buy a set of sideplates (if you don't care to make some), Drill and tap 1/4-20 threads into your solid stock. Being that these holes are not square with each other (side to side) I'd cut about 4 or 5" length pieces for each side and get them bolted in place into the side plates first with enough room sticking out of the top of the sideplates to weld to them. Bend up your top half to your liking/style you want, and weld to the stub outs you just made. Grind/Polish the welds up and there ya go... Off to powder coat/chrome/rattle can or whatever finish you want. If you clamped and tacked everything in place correctly you'll be able to bolt and unbolt this from the side plates just as any of the aftermarket ones do. Build yourself a few different uprights or top halves at the point. Just a few ideas. Good luck.

Hell yeah keep us posted if you build it. I like to see stuff from an idea to done product posted. If you have never built anything like this just a friendly two cents worth, be sure to use MINIMUM 1/2" stock. Although 5/8" would be better. I personally used 304 stainless instead of cheap *** cold roll (mild steel). Not that much more, a good bit stronger and if your paint or powder coat ever chips or scratches you wont have to worry about rust either.

European lol. OKay well 10mm fyi is still very small. Close to 3/8" standard. I know 3/8" (which is abot 9.5mm) is undersized for a sissybar. Don't ask me how I know lol.
