Default buying a 2006 street bob
Hey guys I'm about to buy a 2006 street bob with 15k miles on it, the dealership is asking 8500. The pictures make it look like its in rlly good shape, no noticable damage and its 100% stock. I was just wondering if this sounds like a fair deal to you guys and also any common issues with this bike and when i should start expecting them. thanks a lot for any response guys

I personally would stay away from an 06. Do a quick search and you'll find out why.

with a 2006 i guarantee you that the rotor bolts will come out and tear the stator all to crap leaving you stuck some where. I make dam sure the fixed that problem. Some 06 models have bad inner primary problems too a lot there depends on when it was made some the last ones where ok i believe. 2007 street bob's have all that fixed plus they have a bigger motor. I own a 06 street bob so been there had to do that $8500.00 sounds a bit high too my buddy picked up a 07 street bob with cam's etc and lots a chrome for 8k just 3 days ago.

Some say the 07 was the best year. I picked up my 07 for $5300. I would keep looking.

Price is too high, especially if the problems common to the 06 haven't been fixed. Try to stick to an 07 or newer. I've seen them on craigslist under $9k

06 is fine... IPB and stator are the only issues, there was a service bulitin for the IPB that should have been address by now on your bike and the stator tell them to give you in writing if the bolts back out they will repair it... mine is an 06 and was welded so they are not all bolted... that said i love the 06 has a 88 tc vs the first year of the 96, much more tq and responsive factory due to the 70T rear pulley the 06 has... i would go 06 all day before 07... then again I have an 06 hahaha

I think that price is $1,000 too high considering the time of year. If I liked the bike I'd offer $7,000 and settle at $7,500. If they won't deal, wait a month or two.
